MTV's Britney Spears Special: For The Record Airs Sunday, November 30

Keeping with the Britney Spears theme for the week, just a reminder that MTV will be premiering their Britney documentary of sorts “For the Record” on Sunday night at 10PM.

It looks like the show will be focusing on the past couple years of the pop star’s life and giving her an opportunity to speak about what it feels like to be thrust back into the spotlight after what was a trainwreck-like two or three years. People will probably be talking about it and hopefully it’s worth watching!

Here’s a sneak peek!

Britney Spears' Performs Womanizer on X-Factor

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Britney Spears perform on stage and while many of us still can’t get the memory of her “Gimme More” performance on the VMAs out of our minds, it’s good to see the one-time pop princess turned trainwreck somewhat back on her feet. With Britney’s album Circus just days away from release, Britney is hitting the international TV scene with performances of her single “Womanizer.”

While I wouldn’t say that they’re anywhere near what she once was, this is also about ten years later than the “Hit Me…” days. I think that a lot of the awkwardness in these performances has to do with the weird arm choreography, along with the fact that she still had a breakdown somewhat recently and it’s got to be tough to be on stage so soon after everyone had given up on her.

For what it’s worth, I’m happy Britney’s back and I’ll be picking up Circus on Tuesday, regardless of what the critics may say.

Britney Spears' Full Album – Circus – Featuring "Womanizer"

The most anticipated album of the fourth quarter this side of Taylor Swift and David Cook, Britney Spears’ “Circus” has been released to imeem for streaming

– a full week before it comes out.

Take a listen to Britney’s latest effort via the widget below!

It’s no secret that I think Womanizer is Britney’s best song in years , if not ever, but reaction feels like it’s mixed for the rest of the album so far. How many more “comebacks” can Britney have before we finally say she’s had too many?

Esmee Denters Performs "Follow My Lead" at YouTube Live

By now, all of us know the Esmee Denters story – YouTube sensation turned signee to Justin Timberlake’s music label. While I can’t really explain why the song is Justin Timberlake featuring Esmee Denters, considering Esmee sings the majority of the song, the single “Follow My Lead” is pretty hot.

Esmee took the stage at YouTube Live, sans JT to perform the song and there’s something pretty… pretty… trying to think of the right word because it’s not really just inspiring, but just something really cool about seeing Esmee start to come into her own as a an on stage performer after dominating the world of viral video stars.

While some say that she sounds out of breath, I think she does a great job and looks incredible doing it. Who knew Esmee had those booty shakes in her?

However, does anyone else think it’s kind of weird that a video from YouTube Live has embed disabled? I think that’s kind of weird.

YouTube Live Highlights: DJ Mike Relm Mixes Viral Videos

At YouTube Live , DJ Mike Relm was manning the “1’s and 2’s” and he had a few opportunities to show off his DJ-ing skills. When he did, it was unreal good. Big YouTube stars aside, DJ Mike Relm was one of the top performers from the show.

YouTube Live: Planet B-Boy is Awesome

YouTube Live

was held this weekend, where numerous YouTube stars got together in what felt like a celebration of some of the biggest viral videos that were birthed on the world’s biggest video site. One of my favorite performers on the night had to be some of the breaking crews from Planet B-Boy , a movie that my roommate Ryan absolutely loves.

Watch them perform at YouTube Live and see if you can somehow not get the chills when you see all these dancers from different countries coming together under one style and one roof.

MTV's The Hills and Lauren Conrad Renew for Fifth Season

Although I feel like The Hills has been losing some serious steam since Season 3, especially now that Whitney Port is moving on to star in The City next season, apparently the powers that be at MTV think that we haven’t had enough of Lauren (and who could??) as it appears they’ve renewed the Laguna Beach spinoff (from many moons ago) for yet another season of Hollywood-style dramz .

Rumors have been swirling that Conrad was ready to pass the torch on to someone else to be MTV’s reality queen (one would think that Whitney Port would do the job), but it looks like this has to be the last season of MTV’s biggest hit because although Lauren makes money off the show,

there comes a point where she has to get tired of being followed all the time. After the next (and FINAL, it just has to be) season of The Hills, Lauren has had her life on seven MTV seasons (2 Laguna + 5 The Hills) and with her fashion line doing much better than the reviews would indicate – chances are, Lauren’s ready to move on too.

But I’d be lying if I said that I wouldn’t miss the drama a little bit. And Lauren getting to be delightful in interviews like this one with David Letterman.

American Idol David Cook's CD Met With Mixed Reviews

home of phobia aka freshman orientation download American Idol Season 7 winner David Cook’s first post-Idol album (his second studio album) came out this Tuesday, one week after runner-up David Archuleta’s album looks like it will end up at #2 on the charts behind a monster weekend from Taylor Swift. So far, reaction to the album has been mixed and I think it’s well deserved. While no one seems to be knocking the talent of the first-ever rocker to win Idol, many critics seem to say that the album is pretty generic, something that I’d agree with.

You get some guitar, sometimes some piano, some vulnerable David Cook voice, and some yelling voice David Cook. The songs seem to blend in with one another a bit, but a few of the songs I really like – including “Light On,” “Permanent,” and “A Daily Anthem.” Feel free to preview the first single on this snazzy widget below and choose for yourself if you want to support this year’s Idol with your wallet!

Taylor Swift's "Fearless" to be Number 1 on Charts

I was telling a friend the other day that Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” was going to be one of the top country albums of the year, despite the fact that it’s coming out in October. And after one day, it looks like I could be right.

Billboard says that Swift’s sophomore album will not only be the top album on the charts this week, but that it could sell as many as 600,000 this week – making it the top selling week for a country artist this year. For context, Carrie Underwood’s “Carnival Ride” sold 527,000 copies

in its first week, though Swift is probably not yet on Underwood’s level in terms of popularity, it shows that she’s just a half step back.

David Archuleta Releases Debut Album – Featuring "Crush"

American Idol Season 7 Runner Up David Archuleta’s self-titled debut album hit stores today and the lukewarm reviews won’t help the fact that the smooth voiced Idol has some tough competition this week – going up against Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” (which is selling for $3.99 for the week of its release on AmazonMP3) and a re-release of Colbie Caillat’s “Coco.”

With David Cook’s album hitting stores next week after his still-shocking win in Season 7 of AI, it might not be a question of whether David Cook beats David Archuleta again, but a question of how much he will beat the early favorite by in terms of album sales.
