DWTS' Cheryl Burke and Lacey Schwimmer Called "Heavy" by Fellow Dancers
Of course, right after I proclaim that Lacey Schwimmer is the Hottest Girl on TV Right Now, fellow DWTS pro Louis Van Amstel said of Lacey Schwimmer and Cheryl Burke in this week’s TV Guide,
”[People] look at this show to be inspired and think, ‘If I just work hard enough, I can look like that,” pro Louis Van Amstel says in the new issue TV Guide. “If they watch someone who’s dancing her butt off and she’s still heavy, they can be discouraged. You have to take that responsibility.”
One of the show’s popular dancers, Maksim Chmerkovsky added fuel to the fire by saying,
“When I first saw these women this season, I said, ‘Guys, you know the camera adds 10 pounds. You have to do something about this.’
Really? We’re serious right now?
I’m hoping this is a misquote or that something got lost in translation, because there is nothing “heavy” about Lacey Schwimmer
or Cheryl Burke. Clearly, I’m a big Lacey fan, but I feel like there’s something wrong when either of these women can be referred to as “heavy” or even “fat.”

This is the absolute problem with our society. If you think Lacey is “overweight” what do girls who are actually “overweight” think. She is a perfectly normal size girl. And a very good looking one at that. I can’t begin to understand this.
