Danity Kane Breakup Loses Aubrey O'Day and D. Woods
It actually happened.
Diddy removed “Ebony and Ivory,” Aubrey O’Day and D. Woods from Danity Kane, one of the most successful girl groups in the music industry, in the season (series?) finale of Making the Band. Aundrea, Shannon, and Dawn are supposed to continue on in some form as DK (or perhaps get renamed, after we were all finally used to the name), in some sort of Destiny’s Child-like move that hypothetically has the chance of working.
The biggest problem is that by losing Aubrey and D. Woods, Danity Kane arguably loses its two most visible personalities. Fans have grown up watching the group for years now and will not accept the idea of anyone replacing Aubrey or D. Woods, nor will they support the group in the numbers that they’ve enjoyed in the past.
Diddy said that he wanted Aubrey to be the girl that he initially chose to make the band, not the person that fame had made her. He called her promiscuous and overly raunchy, but this isn’t the first time that Diddy has been less than thrilled about her image or rumors have gone around predicting a group breakup . Clearly, Aubrey was not the UC Irvine student that “made the band,” but she was arguably the most popular, yet the most polarizing (love her or hate her). While D. Woods is out of the group, almost by association, seeing as she was the closest member of the group to Aubrey.
Who knows what’s in store for Aubrey, D. Woods, and what’s left of Danity Kane, but something tells me that the parts won’t nearly reach the heights of the whole.

I see what Diddy was saying about Aubrey being different…but her friends and surroundings have changed. Plus adding fame can make things crazy. We all go thru changes as we grow…and she is still growing into the woman she wants to be.
Diddy is an undeniable idiot. WTF was he thinking? We’ll never know. He kicked out Aubrey over a request of COMMON COURTESY! First indication of being a complete idiot and an asshole. He says she was disrespecting him, BULLSHIT. While Dawn was swearing, Aubrey didn’t do such a thing. Don’t get me wrong I love ALL 5 girls. All Aubrey wanted was more communication of these things. All Diddy wants is to do what he wants to do not caring about what everyone else’s take is. And 2nd idiot/asshole indication, he kicked out D. Woods because she stated the truth about them being unhappy. Ain’t that some fucked up shit? And people NEED to get over Aubrey being jealous of Dawn and her solo career yet doing Hairspray. Aubrey did hairspray, she’s still in the same original group. But if Dawn goes solo, THERE’S NO MORE ORIGINAL DK. Now DK as we knew it, is over. Thanks alot Diddy, you arrogant piece of shit!
p . diddy is so freaking arrogant and self involved that the fact that someone is questioning him is crazy. He is the all knowing remember. But it may be the best thing to happen to Aubrey and D. Woods, remember he can’t keep any artist. think about it, every artist he has ever had has left or they’re not releasing in music. He sucks as a record exec. He simply has to many irons in the fire, leaving his artist in the cold. Not one of his artist from from recent years are recording presently, and with his attitude we see why. I think the one who needs to humble himself is Sean Combs, because just as you go up, you can come down. You would do good to remember that. Good luck girls.
diddy is an ass.. Plain and simple. Wat he says goes and don’t ever question him…. He needs to take a look in the mirror cause everthing he was telling Aubrey he needs to do the same thing. I bought both danity kane CDs. But I would never buy another because of him.
