"Sorority Forever" Reunites Viewers With LonelyGirl15 on TheWB.com

Jessica RoseWith the short attention spans that define the Internet browsing habits of the “millenial” generation, one love child in the space formerly known as the Information Superhighway is the “minisode” and ever-growing experiments in “short-form content.”

Now that TheWB.com has emerged with full episode streaming of such girly girl hits like Veronica Mars, The OC, One Tree Hill, and more

, they’re also trying their hand at short-form content by using a familiar face in McG’s “Sorority Forever” – Jessica Rose (AKA: Lonelygirl15). With webisodes that run anywhere between two to three minutes each, you need to have a fast connection and not sneeze to catch everything in these episodes. Walk away for a second? You’ve missed half the show.

(And really, Jessica Rose has somehow turned ridiculously hot since her Lonelygirl days to the point that she could never, ever be the girl next door again. And no, that’s not disgusting for me to say because she’s something like 21 and I’m something like 24. So To Catch a Predator, this is not.)

The artist formerly known as Lonelygirl plays a reluctant pledge who joins Phi Chi Kappa, the country’s most selective sorority with some kind of eeeeeevil secret (that we’re still waiting to discoverrrrr). And surprisingly, despite how much I expected not to like this version of The OC Light in college with some kind of spooky secret, I couldn’t help but get sucked into watching all six episodes of the web-only series that are currently posted.

SIX EPISODES! Fifteen to eighteen freakin minutes and sitting through six separate load times to watch them all. After watching episodes titled “Sisterhood,” “Terrible Mistake,” “Sexy Bra Shopping,” “Panty Pledge,” “Nobody Likes a Fat Girl,” and “Omega Party,” (yes, brilliant, click-worthy titles) I am officially hooked on Sorority Forever like a guy jonesing for some Lauren Conrad goodness on The Hills.

What makes this even more ridiculous is that in six episodes, I wouldn’t say that nothing has happened, but maybe one thing has happened. But yet, now I’m sitting here, waiting for the next two minute episode so that I can see maybe a total of ten lines of dialogue as the story continues to “progress.” (Translation: Almost nothing happens, but when something actually does, it’s awesome)

Maybe there is something to this whole original web series thing after all. It worked for Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog and that wasn’t even short form. Now, I’m anxiously awaiting the next two minutes of a show with some hotties where hardly anything has happened.

A millenial, I suppose I am.
