OMFG, Gossip Girl Returns April 21
In what almost looks and reads like a photoshop message board contest winner on the Internetz, the CW’s Gossip Girl is advertising its return from the writer’s strike with mid-orgasm filled pictures of Serena Van Der Woodsen and the tagline “OMFG.”
I saw these posters in Hollywood today and did a bit of a double take. It’s a little ridiculous because Gossip Girl
is a good enough show for its audience to not have to stoop to near pornographic advertisements combined with Internetz speak for the kids to attract viewers. Though I do think the OMFG is very funny, it seems a little ridiculous to anyone who is over 13 years of age.
The posters also feature a very not-gay Chace Crawford doing the dirty with Blake Lively on the CW’s New York answer to the void that is left in all of our lives with no more new seasons of The OC.
After seeing these pictures, I’m more than ok with the fact that Chace Crawford and Carrie Underwood broke up . I can’t imagine what it would be like for Carrie, or anyone dating either of the Gossip Girl castmembers to see this alleged advertisement covering the side of a tall building in Hollywood.
But it’s still kind of hot.
Ah well, at least Gossip Girl is coming back.
I am mildly ashamed at how much I like this show.
I am less ashamed by how much I want Chuck Bass.
