It's 11:09 PM and American Idol Finalist Kady Malloy's Line Is Not Busy Enough

I’ll be the first to admit that Kady was very ok tonight. The song didn’t really suit her and yes, the judges were right in saying that she has to be a bit more fun. The Kady that we met at her audition jumped for joy when she found out she was going to Hollywood. The Kady that impersonates Britney Spears is an absolute joy, but the one we saw on Wednesday night was as Randy would put it, “just aight wit me, dawg.”

Kady Malloy Top 24

I got 15 votes in for Kady tonight, simply because her line didn’t feel busy enough and she’s been declared my early favorite. Usually, I only vote 5 times for my favorite, but something makes me be a little bit worried about Miss Malloy after Simon said that she seemed like “Night of the Living Dead.”

So no, Kady was not the best tonight. However, I do believe that she is one of the Idol contestants that really has what it takes to be a superstar. She’s pretty, personable, and has a fantastic voice when paired with the right song. I am just not a big fan of this theme week to start out the show and I wish that they would have let all the Idols start out with something a little younger.

Here’s my vote count tonight:

Kady MalloyKady Malloy

Kady Malloy: 15 (As my favorite girl)

Alaina Whitaker

Alaina Whitaker: 3 (My top performance on the night)

Kristy Lee Cook and Kady Malloy

Kristy Lee Cook: 1 (For her potential later in the competition)

I agree wholeheartedly about the theme week thing: we have to get to know the contestants for what they sound like before we start throwing them into themes that are designed to make them fail. For example, I never noticed before how little there is to”Rescue Me.” I kept waiting for another (different) verse, but one never came. For a minute I thought Kristy forgot the words and was just repeating the little she remembered for her full minute and a half performance.

And I’m kind of glad the judges were a little hard on Kady last night; I think she’s so inherently strong as a competitor that they gave her a reality check so she doesn’t get too cocky too soon and just not try hard enough.

I feel like a very pathetic voter after reading this. I only cast one vote for my favorite guy and I cast one vote for a girl that I wanted to try and save (not necessarily my favorite) last night.

    Actually, I think I’m just lazy. Lalala…

PS in that photo at the bottom, is it just me or does Kristy Lee Cook look EXACTLY like Rachel Blanchard?
